For milestone days
A message sealed for a milestone — opened on exactly the right day.
The most meaningful gifts aren't things. They're the words someone took the time to choose, sealed away for a moment they knew would matter. A locket doesn't arrive on time — it arrives at the exact time you chose, years before.

A milestone message works differently to any other gift. It doesn't just arrive on the day — it was written in a different time, by a different version of the person who cared enough to think ahead. That gap is where the meaning lives.
18th or 21st birthday
The first threshold of real adulthood. A message written years before lands with a weight that nothing else can.
Graduation day
From the parent who drove every school run. From the teacher who saw something. From the person themselves, written the night before exams.
Wedding day
Words from a parent to a child. From a child to themselves. From a couple to each other, sealed on their first anniversary.
First child
The moment someone becomes a parent. Often the moment they finally understand their own.
Leaving home
The day the house goes quiet. A message from the person who made it a home.
A milestone birthday — 30, 40, 50
Written by the younger version of yourself. Read by whoever you've become.
Retirement
After decades of work. A message from a colleague, a company, or a life well lived.
A date you choose
Some milestones are private. An anniversary of something only you remember. A day that matters for reasons you don't need to explain.
How the time lock works
When you seal a message on lockets.app, you choose the exact date it unlocks. That could be a specific date — March 15, 2031 — or it can be tied to an occasion: "their 21st birthday," "our 10th anniversary."
Until that date arrives, the message is encrypted and unreadable — by anyone, including you. On the unlock date, the recipient receives their code and can open it whenever they're ready.
The longest time lock currently set on any message in the lockets vault is 11 years.
More than words
A milestone locket can contain text, voice notes, photos, or video. For a 21st birthday, a parent's voice note — recorded the week their child was born — is something no card or gift can replicate. A video message from a grandparent, sealed five years before it's needed, becomes irreplaceable.
lockets.app stores messages on 100-year archival infrastructure. Whatever you seal today will be there when the date arrives — whether that's in two years or two decades.
